How to Sneak More Water into Your Day

It’s an essential building block for life and something we need to keep us going—yet so many people across the world don’t drink half of the daily recommended amount of water to keep dehydration at bay.
Why is water so important? It helps our body’s function better in nearly every way! And as chiropractors, we care about how your body performs day in and day out. Here are some simple ways that you can help your body take in more water each day:
1) Chugging several glasses of water a day can seem like torture when every cup is tasteless. Add a bit of excitement by dunking fresh fruit (grapefruit, strawberries, lemon), veggie slices (cucumber, ginger, celery), and herbs (basil, mint, lavender) to your carafe.
2) Drink water through a straw. Why? Taking in water through a straw allows you to drink larger amounts in a shorter time.
3) It’s easy to remember to fill up on water when the source is nearby. Keep a 2 litre water bottle or large carafe at your desk, by the bed at home, and on the kitchen counter as a constant reminder to drink up.
4) Filtered water can taste better than the liquid coming out of the tap or
water fountain. So, invest in a system for your kitchen sink or for your
portable bottle.
5) One sneaky way to increase the amount of water you consume on a daily basis: eat your H2O. Add fruits and vegetables with a high water content to your grocery shopping list. Some top picks include cucumber (96% water), zucchini (95% water), watermelon (92% water), and grapefruit (91% water.
