Witnessing Miraculous Changes

Neil Thompson, Isle of Man Chiropractor

Being a classic sceptic I would never have believed 15 years ago that many conditions such as infertility, asthma, indigestion, migraines, depression, alzheimer's etc. could be helped, and in many cases overcome, by addressing spinal misalignment, diet, exercise, and right thinking. However, it was having the pleasure of witnessing miraculous changes in the lives of my patients that eventually convinced me this was true!

I was 12 years old when I first realised that I had a spinal problem

I was suffering with low back pain and it was preventing me from being able to compete in the sports I loved. I grew afraid that I would never be able to play competitive sport again because all the medical specialists could not figure out what was wrong with me. My mother, then desperate, eventually took me to a chiropractor for a different opinion. Many thought she was crazy and some even irresponsible. However, with a series of adjustments and rehabilitative exercises, I began to heal and as cliche as it may sound, chiropractic radically changed my life. Since becoming a chiropractor, I have seen many who have suffered far worse than I ever did, but I do still remember what it was like to be prevented from doing what I loved, and that is what motivates me every day to reach out to others and help them attain their health goals.

Chiropractic Education

I graduated from Durban University of Technology in South Africa as a doctor of chiropractic (DC) with distinctions in all but one of my final year subjects. I then left for Ireland to manage a busy practice in Galway City. Two and half years later, I set up my own practice and spent the next three years completing a post graduate programme in Chiropractic BioPhysics (CBP). Recently I have been finishing up the wellness certification by Dr James Chestnut (B.Ed., M.Sc., D.C., C.C.W.P.) who has been inspirational in helping me learn and understand the wellness paradigm. It is only by God's grace that I have been introduced to CBP and Dr Chestnut. I have benefited and learnt an immeasurable amount from their decades of reading and research. This has led to my philosophy that the day I stop learning or think that I know everything that there is to know, is the day I will stop practising.

Away From Align 4 Life

I am married to my wife Kirsty, who is the sister of my best friend whom I have known from the age of six.... and yes I have heard all the jokes! We recently moved to the Isle of Man to be nearer to family because we know how important it is to have family support close at hand when raising kids.

My hobbies include all sports especially diving, spearfishing, rugby, hiking, camping and when I get the chance, an African safari.

Obviously it is important for me to walk the talk.

I myself get adjusted on a weekly basis, and I have not needed to take medication of any sort in almost five years. For the most part, our family eats what is described as a "hunter-gatherer diet." Sound interesting? Join us for our "eat well, move well, think well" workshops to find out how the latest science is proving that our lifestyle choices are what’s causing the pandemic rates of chronic illness.

But enough about me!

Thank you for visiting our site. I look forward to meeting you in person and learning how we can assist you and your family with today’s safe and wholistic approach to health care. Give Align 4 Life a call so we can help you take your first step towards better health.

Neil Asks some important questions of interest to Isle of Man residents - Chiropractor Isle of Man Neil Asks...

How could chiropractic help a stomach problem?
Chiropractic works by locating and reducing areas of the spine compromising nerve communications between your brain and your body. If nerves to or from your stomach are irritated, your stomach won't work right. Chiropractors find the source of the interference, reduce it and allow your body to work as designed.
How long does it take to form a bone spur?
Many who begin chiropractic care think their problem happened "last week when you bent over funny." But pictures of the spine tell a different story. Chiropractors know it can take your body years to deposit the calcium necessary to form a bone spur. It's your body's response to stress due to gravity or joint malfunction. And chiropractic care can help.
